March to July 1997
From March to July I have ridden another 800kms from near Bundaberg Central Queensland down through Southern Queensland past Toowoomba and across the border into New South Wales. A Canadian/Swiss lady Eva Keller joined me for one week from the small town Mt Perry to Biggenden. We had a very adventurous week and she plans to join me again later this year. My father Kurt Schenk joined me for a week to Nanango which he enjoyed very much. It was the first time he had the chance to experience the ride with me after hearing about it for the last three years. A Swedish gentleman Staffan Ehrnstrom joied me for a month from Ravensbourne Queensland across the border to the town of Tenterfield in New South Wales.

September to November 1997
After a break for the winter in Tenterfield I left back on the Trail at the beginning of September.

Two days later Dianne Shefford a mother of four boys from Warburton VICTORIA took time out to join me. Dianne and I spent eight days riding to Glen Elgin near Glen Innes along Demon Creek, Billarimba Creek and the Rocky River and riding into Moogem State Forest and the Gibraltar Range National Park.

Twenty year old William (Billy) Parks from Los Angeles came along for a two week ride to Ebor through the splendid Guy Fawkes River National Park. We had a fabulous time riding and meeting lots of great people. (Billy if you see this could you please contact me about your photos as I don't have a contact address or number for you).
After a two week break in Ebor my friend Daryl Weedon from England came with me also for two weeks along the Maclay River and the Kundarang Brook into Werrikimbe National Park. It was a beautiful ride with some gorgeous huts to camp in.
